Movie director Shoojit Sircar, who last made the movie Yahaan in 2005, is now setting up a remake of Gulzar’s 1973 hit, Achanak. The movie director is in talks with Abhishek Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan for the projects that were earlier essayed by Vinod Khanna and Om Puri.The film was at first made by Gulzar and written by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas.

Gulzar has currently given the go ahead and is excited about the remake of the movie. In fact, Gulzar will be chipping in with lyrics, dialogue and screenplay. At the moment, Sircar is busy looking for a girl to play the lead. The only actor that is finalised is Upen Patel, who will play an army man. The movie will go on the floors in November.

Meanwhile, Sircar’s current venture, Shoe Bite, that was retitled Johnny Mastana, with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, has not yet been launched even though the shooting is complete. Whether Abhishek will reprise Vinod Khanna’s part, remains to be seen.
