Bolywood actor Arshad Warsi has been picked by travel show host Ian Wright for a feature on his fresh show. The actor will feature in Discovery’s Travel and Living’s new TV series. A source close to the actor said “he was picked from the list of B-Town hosts for his versatility to do comedy and serious roles. Ian and his crew came to Goa and also shot with Arshad Warsi”.
Arshad Warsi holds the view that the concept is to show the life of a celebrity whether he is a model, rock singer, actor etc from different parts of the globe. In India, they wanted to feature an actor and Ian and I clicked well. While Ian never wanted to be a host so did Arshad Warsi never wanted to be an actor.
Ian came on the sets of Golmaal 3 in Goa and shot. He shot right from the actor’s sets to his van, hotel room and even bathroom. The actor was only chosen after Ian went through his profile on the net.

After being trapped by an anti-tobacco watchdog for smoking in a college campus in Goa, Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi has vowed not to smoke while making a public appearance. In a letter to NOTE general secretary Shekhar Salkar dated May 10, Arshad Warsi has expressed regret about the incident earlier this month and has admitted that “fans follow their on-screen idols and copy their actions”.“Henceforth, I will ensure that I throw away the cigarette before I make a public appearance,” Arshad Warsi has said in his letter to NOTE.
Explaining the course of events earlier this month, which eventually ended up with him being photographed along with actor Tusshar, smoking in public, Arshad Warsi said that he was in his vanity van, when fans stopped by to meet him.“I was smoking in my vanity van parked far away from the college building, when a group of youngsters knocked on the door. As usual I go out of my way to satisfy my fans and I came out to sign the autographs, involuntarily holding the cigarette in my hand,” said the actor, who played the memorable role of Circuit in the “Munnabhai” series.
Speaking to IANS, Salkar said that Arshad Warsi ’s response speaks well about the actor.“We are delighted to know that somewhere deep in Circuit’s heart, traces of good old Munnabhai still live on,” said Salkar, whose organisation has in the past dragged Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to court for directly or indirectly promoting smoking.“We at NOTE appreciate that you have accepted it was wrong on your part to interact with your fans with a cigarette in your hand.
It was nice to learn through your explanation that it was just a subconscious act,” said Salkar.

Tobacco watchdog National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) has filed a police complaint against Bollywood actors Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor for smoking in a college campus in Goa. In his complaint to the district Superintendent of Police Allen D’Sa and officials of the state tobacco control cell, NOTE general secretary Shekhar Salkar said the actors, who are shooting at the Chowgule College campus in Margao, about 35 km from here, were trapped smoking in campus Tuesday.“Arshad Warsi was even signing autographs for children with a cigarette hanging from his fingers.
Such behaviour and abuse of the no smoking standard is offensive. The college authorities should also be fined for letting them smoke in campus,” Salkar said. The NOTE official has also submitted four photographs showing Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor smoking in the college campus to the enforcement authority.“Chief Secretary Sanjiv Srivastava in the last state tobacco control cell meeting had particularly asked the police to implement the anti-smoking law ruthlessly within school and college campuses and about 100 yard around the educational institutions.
They should apply the laws correctly,” said Salkar, whose organisation has in the past dragged Bollywood stars Big B and Shahrukh Khan to court.State Tobacco control cell official said the actors would be soon fined for their misdemeanour.
