Imraan Khan

After several weeks of being on Twitter, Imran Khan now feels it isn’t a right platform for him. “I signed up on Twitter because I saw it as a way to interact on a individual level with my viewers. I love interacting with fans and I’ve always looked for ways to do that – whether it’s through online chats or live events, but I have began to feel that this is not the best medium for me to do so,” said Imran.

The actor was quite regular with his tweets before the release of his film ‘I Hate Luv Storys’. But he now likes to move away. “I don’t want to give the impact that I’m upset or angry about anything… far from it. As I said, I have truly enjoyed having the opportunity to reach out to so several people and I really enjoy all the love and assist I’ve received.

What it boils down to, I think, is that I just don’t feel twitter is correct for me. Thank you all for the happy times. It’s been a lot of fun,” he concluded.

He might be basking in the success of his present hit “I Hate Luv Storys” but Bollywood`s chocolate boy Imran Khan rues the absence of  actor uncle Aamir Khan in his career.”Aamir is really busy with his own career. He is normally very caught up with his own work. Being busy as he is, he really doesn’t have the time to babysit me,” Imran told reporters.

The 27-year-old shone to glory with his launch vehicle “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na” produced by his uncle. He, however, saw failures in future outings “Kidnap” and “Luck”.  Asked if something was in the pipeline for the nephew-uncle duo to star together, Imran said: “Nothing on the cards right now. In life, if something good comes up, I’m sure we’ll do it.”

Bollywood actor Imran Khan, it seems has taken some marketing strategies from Aamir Khan. Imran can be seen at a multiplex’s popcorn counter asking for everyone’s choice. The actor has already chalked out the post-release promotions of his flick I Hate Luv Storys which releases tomorrow.Imran Khan knows that his work is far more than an actor ad it’s equally vital to promote a movie after it releases.

Sonam Kapoor is also supposed to accompany them.”I’d rather sell more of tickets than popcorn. That’s more important,” admits Imran.Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor will be visiting multiplexes and theatres across the city on Saturday all day.”We will begin in the morning when the first show starts and continue till the last show ends.” said Imran Khan.

Bollywood actor Imran Khan is one of the few actors who have no qualms leaving his stardom behind at times. Like in recent times when he was travelling across cities and could not find accessibility in any airlines. Finally, the organisers heaved a sigh of relief when Imran Khan decided to travel economy class without any protest.

Remind you, not many actors would urge to do that. But, Imran Khan is a class apart. The actor had no qualms about travelling with his fans much to their delight.Well, Imran’s behaviour is welcome break from people who get too touchy about their stardom.

Bollywood director Kunal Kohli, presently shooting for his movie “Break Ke Baad” in Mauritius, has banned lead actors Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan from talking about the movie on social networking sites on the internet. Kohli told IANS: “I’ve only asked Deepika and Imran to stop from tweeting for three weeks until Imran’s new movie “I Hate Luv Storys” is released. I don’t want any overlapping in the public’s subconscious about the two films.

Once Imran’s other film is out, he and Deepika are free to tweet to their heart’s content.” The director’s restrictions have, apparently, not been taken well by Imran who was heard grumbling loudly about the curtailment of the freedom of expression. Justifying his stand, Kohli determinedly said: “I really don’t approve of stars giving out information on micro-blogging sites, but I don’t think we should stop them.

What I can do is to decide when is the right time to tweet.”

Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor has made fun of all-time romantic songs of SRK and Kajol and other on-screen romantic couples in Bollywood. The pair will be seen doing the parody versions of the most romantic songs of 90ies in I Hate Love Storys. However, actor Imran Khan was not really comfortable making fun of senior actors on-screen. But why? Read on.

The sources confirm that Imran Khan was quite apprehensive and lost as to what exactly was going to happen while the shoot of the song. He felt very weird and later realized that if he would do it half-measure; it was never going to look quite right. So, he went the whole hog which he really had to. There was no other way filmmakers could sell it.

Thats’ quite natural Imran Khan especially when you have to make a spoof of big actors like SRK and of course your uncle Aamir Khan. Wonder, what was going on in Sonam Kapoor’s mind at that time.

For all those who think Imran Khan’s career has been a cakewalk, think again. Things may be smooth sailing now but he had a nerve-wracking time before his hit debut movie, Jaane Tu yaa Jaane Na, released. “It was the time when Jaane Tu…kept getting pushed further and further back and we didn’t know when it would release. We had finished shooting the film more than a year ago and I had finished shooting my second film, Kidnap also and was about to start shooting for Luck.

It was pretty funny because I had started shooting my third movie and was unsure about the release of my first film,” recalls Imran. He continues, “After the fourth time that the release got pushed, I cracked; I broke down. I couldn’t handle it and I wasn’t hopeful. That was the lowest point in my life.”Imran felt he didn’t exist and that nobody knew about him. “I had finished two films and was working on the third one. In spite of coming from a filmy background, no one knew about my existence. No magazine or newspaper mentioned me in their articles about upcoming films and upcoming actors.

They mentioned Nikhil Dwivedi, Harman Baweja, Farhan Akhtar’s debut but nobody ever mentioned me. That hurt me because I was shooting for my third film and had not created any buzz. I didn’t know where I was, I didn’t who I was and I was unsure of the purpose of my existence,” Imran recalls painfully. Fortunately for him JTYJN was a huge hit and he has become one of the most sought-after actors in B-Town today. Times change and how!

Imran Khan seems to have discovered a new way of communication. The actor uses code language to speak to his director Punit Malhotra on the sets of I hate luv Stories. It’s learnt that the duo, who have been buddies for long, use this code language in front of the cast and the crew whenever they need to have a private talk.

This code language gets a mix reaction on the sets with some getting amused or surprised and yet some feeling completely irritated. The director calls this language, ”The Pali Hill lingo’, and says that both he and Imran have been using this language for long, particularly in situations when they need to bitch about someone.

The fire dept expected the unit to cough up a $15000 fine for wasting their time. The director and producer began negotiations, stalling shoot Punit Malhotra’s Imran Khan-Sonam Kapoor starrer I Hate Luv Storys has run into trouble with the Queenstown Fire & Rescue Service in New Zealand where the film is currently being shot. A source says, “The unit ran into trouble while shooting on the streets. Most houses have a smoke detectors there as the authorities are strict about such things. They were filming a fire scene and the smoke alarm went off.

And when it did, someone alerted the fire authorities, who came immediately to check if a fire had broken out. When they found out that the false alarm was caused by the shooting, they were very irritated. They wanted the unit to pay a hefty fine. Punit and the production team negotiated with them for a couple of hours over it. Shooting got stalled for a few hours.”On Saturday at 5 am, Imran had tweeted, “Our smoke machine has set off the fire alarm. Which has set off every alarm on the block. Fire brigade are enquiring what exactly we’re upto. Entire unit has spilled out into the street. Negotiating terms with fire department.

Seems there’s a 15,000 dollar fine for fake alarms.Alarm switched off, fire department appeased, and we’re back to work!” When someone asked him whether they had to pay the huge fine Imran tweeted back, “negotiations are still underway. The burglar alarm in a Sunglass Hut next door went off as well, so it’s a “security breach”.”  Producer Karan Johar says, “I can’t comment on it.”

Imran arrived at the Malik farmhouse at Karjat with Avantika where the engagement took place. The 27-year-old star has been dating Avantika for more than five years now She is the daughter of TV18 honcho Vandana Malik.
