Lara Dutta

The actor who was learning to ride horses and often found herself at the Mahalaxmi race course early in the mornings, has stopped horse-riding. And the girl misses her little   ghodi   Embroidery tremendously. But she isn’t complaining…after all her trot to success has now become a gallop.

Lara, who is having a blast shooting for Blue , a film starring, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar and Zayed Khan, says she is on a training spree for the action-packed slick flick. “My training is such that I am not allowed to do horse riding. They require me to have a certain body-shape for the film, and horse riding wouldn’t work well for that. But yes, we all are working out very hard,” says Lara.

Looking forward to Banda Yeh Bindaaas Hai , and Blue , Lara admits that it was Jhoom Barabar Jhoom followed by Partner that gave her a second lease of life in Bollywood. Not looking back, she continues her journey, spiritual and otherwise with doing what she loves most, and what she’s best at!

So much for B-wood’s Lara Croft!

Lara Dutta was recently invited as a special guest at a car launch. The beauty arrived their way behind time and blamed the Mumbai traffic for her delay. Being late, she couldn’t launch the car, but she did play a good product endorser. She said, “The car is the star of the show. I am only here to enhance it.”

Women are generally considered to be unfit behind the wheel. However, Lara was out there to prove it otherwise. When asked to comment if women are actually bad drivers, Lara laughed, “Watch me on the road.” She went on to say, “I think it’s a fabulous segment in the market where working women can afford to buy a car and indulge themselves in things normally considered to be a man’s sport. Personally, I think women are fantastic behind the wheel.”

Also, according to her, it’s not just the men who are paranoid about their cars. When it comes to obsessing about its interiors and décor, women can’t be left behind. She says, “If a woman buys a car with her own hard earned money, they wouldn’t want anybody to touch it, even if it’s her boyfriend or husband.”

‘We contemplated legal action against Lara and Bipasha’The stars accompanying the Bachchans for The Unfogettables tour in July have been finalised. Confirming the list, Sabbas Joseph of Wizcraft, organisers of the tour says, “Preity and Riteish will be at all the venues. Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit and Shahid Kapoor are the guest stars for US, Trinidad, Amsterdam and the UK.”etting the performers wasn’t easy since a couple of stars opted out. “From the outset, Lara and Bipasha were definitely on, along with Riteish and the Bachchans. There’s photographic evidence of them confirming their presence at last year’s IIFA.” When asked for the change of mind, Sabbas says, “Riteish was signed last year. He stood by his deal even though his box-office equity has doubled. A commitment is a commitment.”
Keep your word

He adds, “My question to the people who opted out is: ‘You’ve had the hits and you believe your price is changed. But what about commitment?’ Also, let me remind the ones who are no longer on the tour that we’re showcasing Indian cinema on on an international level. A Bachchan tour takes Indian cinema as far as it can go. According to me, being part of it is a matter of pride.” Sabbas doesn’t think the actresses dropped out due to the Aishwarya factor. “Not at all! Ash and Abhishek are the two actresses’ buddies and would’ve gone out of their way to make them feel at home. No, I think it was the temptation to hike their remuneration.”He adds, “We did contemplate legal action. But finally it seemed a waste of time and energy. If an individual doesn’t want to be part of an event, it doesn’t make sense to force them to perform. No point in having performers who won’t enjoy what they’re doing the audience won’t enjoy it either.”

Lara Dutta’s ghost encounterIt is well out of Ramsay Brothers’ plot. Lara Dutta was spooked out of her mind by eerie incidences at a palace where she was staying. Shooting for Ravi Chopra’s film ‘Banda Ye Bindaas Hai’ in Ooty with actor Govinda, Lara was made to stay at a royal palace of a late king of Mysore. However, Lara had a hair raising scary experience at the palace. During her one-day stay at the palace, Lara says she felt a presence in her room. She had a distinct feeling that someone was watching her. To add to it, the fan in Lara’s room began moving. The doors with rusty hinges began opening and shutting with a creaky sound. The lights began to blinker. And to top it all, Lara’s make-up girl suddenly caught high fever. Though she saw no ghost, Lara decided to move out of the palace. She told her producer that she and her staff would happily stay anywhere but at the palace.

Lara, Akshay and Sanjay Dutt in a ‘blue’ film? The name of the film is quite innovative and suggestive of course, but it has nothing to do with what you are thinking… The production house Shree Ashtavinayak is set to launch a 100 crore budgeted film titled ‘Blue’. The film will have Lara Dutta, Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt as the leading stars and will be directed by a foreign ad filmmaker named Tony. There is a possibility that Priyanka Chopra might also be a part of the film. If yes, it would mark the coming together of Akshay and Priyanka after a long gap since the two stars gave up working with each other following the rumours of their alleged affair. ‘Blue’ is likely to go on the floors in the second half of 2008.
