Obama seems to be getting on to the Bollywood women. Why else would films be made in Bollywood with him in the title? While Kajol and SRK have made some references to Obama in the film My Name is Khan, Mallika Sherawat is working in a film called Love Barrack where she has also posed with his cut out.

Add to that the fact that former Miss India and actress Neha Dhupia is also working in a film called With Love to Obama. “I am shooting for the film at Bhor with Rajat kapoor. He is one of the finest people in Indian Cinema. The team is good and we have a positive feel about the film,” she says. Neha was in the US on a TV show as well and we do hope that the US President also returns the love to our pretty women!

Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat has bagged a role in Doug McHenry’s Love, Barack, a political romantic comedy, which is inspired from 2008 US presidential election. She will be staring opposite Avatar star Laz Alonso. She will play Obama’s coordinator Aretha Gupta.

The story is all about 2008 US election, where Democrat Aretha (Mallika Sherawat) falls for her Republican counterpart (Alonso), a handsome, dynamic African-American working for the local McCain office. Mallika Sherawat is all excited about this project and says “Laz Alonso is a talented and exciting actor. I’m very lucky to be working with him.”

Gary Goldstein has penned the script and Francis Kenny will be the director of photography. Veteran actress Ruby Dee, Gerry Bednob and Loretta Devine are also doing the lead role in the movie.

Indian men have always been extra protective of their sisters, and the ones linked to the Indian film industry often get to see some or the such other exception. Some time back, Vikram Lamba demonstrated his sentiments when his sister Mallika Sherawat was doing away with the climax of her movie, ‘Hissss’.Apparently Mallika was clad in a skin-coloured bikni for the shot, which was canned on a dark, cold night.

A naked body double was positioned directly behind her.The game plan of the director, Jennifer Lynch was to take close-ups of Mallika and full body shot of the double. Mallika was to filmed on a tree,leaning on a branch.But from no where, Mallika’s brother Vikram barged in to the set and powerfully stopped the shooting shouting that his sister will not wear such a short, blasphemous bikni.Govind Menon, who is the co-producer of the film alongwith Vikram tried to reason with him but all in vein while tha shoot remained suspended for hours.

But what came as a shock was Mallika’s reaction who strongly opposed her brother and said that she is very much comfortablee wearing this see-through bikni.In the end, however, Vikram won the battle and thus replaced the filmsy outfit with a longer, skin-coloured bodysuit, which was not as transparent as the earlier outfits.

Sonam Kapoor who debuted with ‘Saawariya’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor shared her secret fitness mantra in an interview. The actress said that she weighed 90 kgs once but after following a strict healthy diet and regular exercise she has lost all her extra fats and is finally left into a leggy lass.

According to Sonam Kapoor she wants to look and feel young and thus work out at least five times a week. If that was not enough, the preety actress believes in the saying – ‘early to bed and early to rise’. Well, that’s what the hottie B-town bombshell Mallika Sherawat also preaches.

Mallika Sherawat is all set for a tryst with the United States elections and President Barack Obama. The experience, however, will be restricted to the big screen only.The sultry diva will star in Doug McHenry’s romantic comedy, Love, Barack . The film tracks the romance between a Democrat campaign volunteer and her Republican counterpart in the run- up to last year’s Presidential election in the US. Mallika confirms the development on her Twitter account. Her character, Aretha Gupta, is inspired by Kamala Harris, the attorney general of San Francisco. Some time back, the Bollywood sizzler had tweeted: ” I will B ‘ shadowing’ her ( Harris) to research my new movie.” Come to think of it, Mallika truly needs a push in her career considering she has no new film in hand in Bollywood after flops such as Ugly Aur Pagli and Maan Gaye Mughall- E- Azam .

Her next film, Jennifer Lynch’s international horror production, Hisss , has also been delayed for quite some time.Right now, Mallika is working on an American accent for Love, Barack , a film with an all- American cast.She writes on Twitter: ” It’s an amazing role I’m working hard at. I’m ready,” adding: ” One of the great things about western cinema is the diversity of female roles.” Mallika goes on to state that ” Kamala is a great inspiration and to play a part inspired by her is an actress’s dream.” Gary Goldstein, famed for co- producing the Julia Roberts- Richard Gere blockbuster Pretty Woman , has scripted Love, Barack . For some time now, Mallika has been constantly boasting about her extensive research on the life of Kamala.She had also attended a dinner with Kamala, a woman of Indian and African- American descent.” Studyn her 4 a film,” she had enthusiastically tweeted.

Kamala happens to be the first woman district attorney to be elected in San Francisco and the first African- American elected as district attorney in California.She is also a candidate for the prestigious post of the attorney general of California in 2010.Love, Barack had hit the floors in Los Angeles on January 13 this year.Bollywood filmmaker Govind Menon is co- producing the film along with Hollywood producer and William Keenan’s company Nuclear Mango.In fact, Goldstein, a celebrity in his own right, has written the script based on Menon and Keenan’s idea.” Just like Slumdog Millionaire , the projects that Menon and Keenan are producing demonstrate that cinema can bring people together from diverse backgrounds and their film stories will have worldwide appeal,” said director McHenry in a recent interview.

Mallika claims Hisss has been the hardest but most rewarding film she has ever worked on. ” It’s east- west collaboration but will be unlike anything ever seen in Bollywood. It’s something Hollywood is already excited about,” she claims.Mallika, meanwhile, is making news for her self- proclaimed meetings with highprofile global celebrities. Soon after Yanni dedicating a song to her, she says she has met Sean Penn, Charlize Theron, Matthew McConaghey, Queen Latifah and Ben Stiller.Recently, she received the Honourary Citizen Award of Los Angeles for her contribution as a foreigner. ” This is my biggest achievement so far,” said the actress, who mostly lives in LA these days.

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan and the sizzling Mallika Sherawat bonded over dinner table in Beverly Hills. There is no need to raise eyebrows as there is nothing brewing up between the two and they did not dine alone. Rakesh Roshan and the co-producer of Kites Brett Ratner accompanied them.

The group were spotted together in the renowned eating joint Mr Chow. Mallika had the paparazzi following her and she thanked them for showering adulation on her.When a paparazzi quizzed Hrithik about his upcoming movie Kites he said he would like to have a milkshake named after him just like Mallika has.

Mallika has shifted her base to LA ever since she started working in the Jennifer Lynch directed movie Hissss which she feels will give her a platform in Hollywood.Well it remains to be seen if Hrithik makes a short trip to Mexico to meet his Kites co-star Barbara Mori.

The director, adamant on making the sequel to his disastrous, so-called horror flick Phoonk, was hoping Mallika would up the glam quotient in order to grab those much-needed eyeballs. But Mallika, who considers herself in another league altogether, wasn’t interested in being a part of the film. The actress at the moment is spending time with the who’s who of Hollywood, promoting her upcoming horror flick Hisss, where she plays a vengeful snake-woman.

Sources close to Mallika revealed, “Mallika isnt even planning on returning to Bollywood; she is loving the high life in LA. If Hisss is a hit, it will open several doors for her internationally. She is making herself known there, and has even told friends that when Bollywood will learn to respect women, that’s when she’ll return to the industry. She was tired of the sexy bimbette image in B-town, and knows that in Hollywood, she would be accepted as she is. However, she hasn’t renounced herself entirely from Bollywood, as there’s always a chance for Hisss to tank, considering that the director of the film was earlier nominated for a Razzie award. But the reason she gave Ramu was that she didn’t want to do horror films back to back and politely excused herself from the film.”

Ramu has cast newcomer Adin as the male lead and finally approached Neeru Bajwa for the role. Neeru is a former television actress and will also be seen in the Vivek Oberoi starrer Prince, It’s Show time. The two are even rumoured to be dating each other, and sources say that Vivek suggested Neeru’s name to Varma. Neeru confirmed the news saying, ‘Yes, I am doing Phoonk 2. However, I cannot divulge what role I play in the film. Phoonk 2 is a thriller, and I have been strictly told not to reveal anything about the story.’ A source close to the director added, “Ramu is going to make the sequel bigger and better. He isn’t interested in what critics have to say about his movie, and is probably making the sequel to give it back to them. He feels that Phoonk was a work of art with its sound techniques and direction, and he has gotten used to the brickbats in the industry.”

After Kangana Ranaut, it is Mallika Sherawat who went under knife. Mallika has undergone lip surgery. Her lower lip appears fuller and her upper lip seems distorted. She had done the changes for a new Hollywood film that she has signed recently.Says a source, “She was waiting for the shooting of Hissss to end. After that, she was to start shooting for her new Hollywood film. Mallika wants to look the part and that’s why she had her lips done, while she was in India. She was here for more than a month.

In fact, she was supposed to leave more than two weeks ago but left for LA only last week.”Her brother Vikram Singh, refutes the charge, “What rubbish! Mallika is the same as ever before. I would have definitely known had she done something.”She is presently shooting in Los Angeles for a film inspired by San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Devi Harris.

However, Mallika remained unavailable for her lippy comment.

Actress Mallika Sherawat has found a new reason to be in lime light these days as she says she is having nightmares for her upcoming movie Hisss.The profound reason for her pre-release phobia is that she thinks that the government may ban ‘Hisss’ as snake charmers of India are shown in a poor light in the film.

She is concerned that snake charmers might create an uproar about how they’ve been portrayed in the film.The actress recently expressed her fears, “I am told the Snake Charmers’ Assoction is protesting against Hisss, saying that the film could hurt their image and their chances to reverse the government ban.” We seriously doubt there is any such association.

Snake charmers perform on the roadsides. Most of them are hand to mouth and on top of this, they hardly can think about forming an association. Mallika now think about something new to promote your movie ‘Hisss.’
