With third edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League inching closer, Bollywood actor and co-owner of the Rajasthan Royals Shilpa hoped the Shane Warne-led side will re-live the first year`s glory of winning the show-piece tournament.

The Rajasthan team, which won the inaugural edition of the Twenty20 tournament in 2008, finished an unimpressive sixth last year when the event was organised in South Africa.”We finished sixth in the IPL previous year in South Africa.

But we were the champions in the first edition and I wish the team will move up once again when the third edition takes place,” Shilpa said.The tournament is commencing from March 12 and Rajasthan  will open their campaign by taking on Mumbai Indians in an away match the next day.

Shilpa, who was here with team`s co-owner and husband Raj Kundra, took part in an environmental awareness programme along with all the Rajasthan Royals players, including captain Warne.

Following the footsteps of celebs like Priyanka chopra, SRK and Karan Johar Shilpa Shetty too newly made her ‘debut” on social networking website Twitter. But compared to other stars Shilpa got cold response from the netizens. Priyanka and Mallika have made the record number of people follow them on the site. Recently Priyanka got the chance to visit HQ of Twitter.

But for Shilpa it was a dim opening on the social networking website.Shilpa’s colleagues from Indian Premier League (IPL) are using this platform to air theire views on different matter. IPL commosioner Lait Modi, team franchisee SRK, Preity Zinta and players like Shane Warne and Yuvraj Singh are all over on Twitter.

But only director Karan Johar is following her on the social networking site. Shilpa debuted on Twitter on 26th February and around 4000 Twitters are following her. Where as Priyanka and Mallika have crossed 1 lakh followers mark in few days only. Shilpa is not following anybody on this site either.

Shilpa Shetty is the newest celebrity to join the micro-blogging website twitter, which is fast becoming a favourite haunt for Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.The 34-year-old, who has her own blog, joined the networking site on February 26.Shetty, who is also the co-owner of IPL team Rajasthan Royals, used the opportunity to endorse her team.

“Hello Hello i am the newest inclusion to twitterdom! In London now..IPL Jitters kicking in.Launched the new mascot ‘Moochu Singh’ too cute!! (sic),” the actress wrote.Shetty was welcomed by filmmaker Karan Johar, an avid tweeter, who had earlier encouraged Arjun Rampal, Ranbeer Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan to join the website.”Ok…@theshilpashetty in the house and joins the family…give her love!!!,” Johar tweeted.

Other Bollywood celebrities on twitter are Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Mallika Sherawat, Riteish Deshmukh, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta, Shahid Kapoor and Anupam Kher.

She is known to speak her mind, but when Shilpa Shetty gets carried away with her feelings, there are confident well-wishers who tell her keep quiet. On a multi-city tour to promote her cricket team, the dazzling beauty was left embarrassed after her close associates asked her keep shut. Khan’s remarks on Pakistani cricketers, got so animated while talking about SRK at a press conference in Gujrat that she was literally made to ‘shut-up’. Confirming the news a source said, “When Shilpa was aksed about SRK, she started to defend him quite energetically. Sensing the common mood of the crowd, her PR agents quietly nudged her to keep her feelings about Shah Rukh to herself.”

Wonder why? Well in Gujrat, Aamir Khan and SRK have many detractors. So those voicing their opinion on these Bollywood hotties should observe the options of having their team targeted.

Shilpa Shetty  and husband Raj freshly played cricket with some school children.The atmosphere at Mt Carmel girls’ school in Ahmedabad, needless to say, got all charged up when the couple paid a visit.The coowners of the Indian Premier League team, Rajasthan Royals, said they wanted to promote sports among the students.

Shilpa and Raj formed two teams with the students and played a truly interesting match of two overs. The couple – they were both team captains – was seen enjoying the moment to the fullest. Onlookers also had their share of fun cheering for the celebrity couple.

When Sunny Deol announced his next directorial The Man there was a lot of thrill among the people. However over a year since then the film has been stuck with the recession freezing all funds. Sunny Deol admits that he has not been able to take the film the way he wanted to. “The recession came in and things came to halt. We were supposed to go for a schedule in London but we could not do it then.

Now things are clearing up and we should restart the film soon,” says Sunny. The movie interestingly stars Shilpa Shetty who got married late last year.And in case she does not manage to any other film in the meantime, The Man would be her first film after the marriage. “We are in fact now waiting for Shilpa to get over with her IPL commitments before we go on to shoot the rest of the film,” adds Sunny.

Sunny in the meantime has a few other movies happening too. Let’s hope Shilpa finds time for the movie, which seems to be quite difficult post marriage for many actresses!

More than bollywood mania the cricket mania is catching up faster as the Bollywood personalities seems to be more attracted to its green light for moneymaking.As the second season of Indian Premier League (IPL) is round the corner the two bollywood’s highest siren are seen at a press conference that was held in Mumbai.

Shilpa and Preity were present there to address at the press conference for their respective teams ‘Rajasthan Royals’ and ‘Kings XI Punjab.’In between the two sirens, IPL commissioner took the pleasure to take the seat. In the process of the conference Shilpa had the pleasure to greet the business tycoon and owner of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Vijay Mallya.

In this conference even noted personality like Tina Ambani for Mumbai Indians while Lalit Modi was present. Lalit Mohan has decided to add two more teams.Hope we will get to see the magic of Shilpa and  Preity  more on screen also.

The launch of Louis Vuitton store in Mumbai saw many hot beauties, and one among them was Freida Pinto. astonishingly the Mumbai girl in one of her rare appearances was seen among the bevy of other B- town actresses, but chose not to pose with Shilpa Shetty. Why so? According to a tabloid, when a photographer requested Freida to pose with Shilpa for a picture, she said she didn’t have enough time.

Nevertheless, the girl was seen posing together with other actresses, as Lara Dutta, Malaika Arora, Dia Mirza, Sameera Reddy and many others were present at the launch.But next to her was Genelia D’Souza, not Shilpa. A source tells the tabloid, “There was a conscious attempt on her part not to be clicked with B-town actresses. When asked to pose with Shilpa she just turned it down and moved the other way.”

Is the reason the fact that Shilpa is also popular in UK like Freida! However, the girl has a photo clicked with Heroes’ star Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is in town for a movie.

It’s been two months since Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty got married to Raj Kundra but there seems to be no end to the wedding celebrations.A star struck British MP Kieth Vaz hosted a reception for Shilpa and Raj in the House of Commons in London.Shilpa Shetty whose career got a second lease of life with her appearance on Big Brother in the UK said she was thrilled that the honeymoon didn’t seem to end.

“We are celebrating our wedding and the honeymoon just continues. I am very happy,” Shilpa said.Much excited, the actress said that she should have gotten “married earlier”.Shilpa also said earlier, “The House of Commons reception is being thrown for Raj and me by British MP Keith Vaz who’s a dear friend of ours.”Speaking from London after her majestic Mediterranean cruise with her husband and their families, Shilpa had said, “I don’t know why I didn’t get married earlier!

Marriage is wonderful when the man whom you marry is good, and mine is wonderful! Touch wood, I’m loving every minute of the marriage.”Now Shilpa can’t wait to get back to Mumbai on Jan 8. “I’m missing Mumbai and can’t wait to get back.”
