Abstract Fall Forest Reflected in a Still Lake
forest reflection · abstract autumn · acrylic washes · still lake
Develop an abstract fall forest beside a still lake in a 16:9 landscape format for an editorial landscape feature. Set the shoreline slightly above the midpoint, with long bands of saffron and burgundy foliage reflected below in interrupted vertical strokes. Place a small stand of pale trunks off-center to the left, while a dark indigo headland enters from the right. Use fluid acrylic washes, soft squeegee marks, and subtle horizontal scraping to distinguish water from land. Early evening light should warm the treetops while leaving the lake cool and subdued. Avoid perfect symmetry; gentle distortion and missing reflections should make the woodland feel atmospheric rather than diagrammatic.
