Swirling Mountain Storm Seen From a Forest Clearing
forest clearing · tempera painting · mountain storm · nature essay
Illustrate a swirling storm above a mountain forest clearing in a 3:2 landscape format for a nature photo essay. Position rain-darkened ferns and a fallen branch close to the viewer, with a gap in the trees revealing layered mountain slopes and rotating cloud bands beyond. Use detailed tempera brushwork in the foreground and increasingly translucent washes toward the horizon. The storm should show natural variations in density, including a pale inner opening and a darker outer shelf, without becoming a perfect geometric spiral. Soft overcast light enriches moss greens and cool bark browns. Keep the composition unoccupied and emphasize ecological setting alongside the dramatic atmospheric subject.
