Abstract Fall Forest Canopy Seen from Directly Above
overhead forest · autumn canopy · aerial photography · organic abstraction
Photograph an abstract fall forest from directly overhead in a 16:9 landscape composition for a nature photo essay. Fill the frame with interlocking deciduous crowns in scarlet, ocher, pumpkin, and muted green, broken by one narrow shadowed stream running diagonally through the lower half. Let the largest golden crown sit slightly right of center, balanced by darker red trees along the left edge. Soft late-afternoon light should reveal varied leaf textures and subtle canopy relief without creating excessive contrast. Avoid visible roads, buildings, people, or horizon. The elevated viewpoint should make the forest read initially as a field of organic color shapes, with natural branches and canopy depth becoming apparent on closer inspection.
