Charcoal and Chalk Tuxedo Cats on Textured Gray Paper
tuxedo cats · charcoal drawing · white chalk · gray paper
Draw two black and white tuxedo cats using charcoal and white chalk on textured warm gray paper, composed in 4:3 landscape for a wide gallery print. Present a close, low-angle view of one cat reclining across the foreground while the second sits behind its shoulder, both faces clearly visible. Use dense charcoal for the black coats, lifted highlights for reflective fur, and luminous chalk for white bibs and whiskers. Allow loose gestural marks around the bodies while resolving eyes, noses, and paw structure with precision. Leave the background mostly unworked so the paper acts as atmosphere, emphasizing companionship and the expressive contrast of their natural markings.
